Description of trainee's research project and progress: Kevin Murphy was a student in the lab of Professor Gideon Koren. His project examined the molecular and cellular processes underlying arrhythmogenesis and sudden cardiac death in the infarcted aged heart. Kevin matriculated at Brown in September 2012. He was supported for two years by this T32 (09/01/12-08/31/14). He successfully defended his Ph.D. on December 19, 2017 (time to Ph.D. defense, 5.3 years). He contributed to the publication of four papers while at Brown. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine with Dr. Mark E. Anderson, M.D./Ph.D. He currently holds the position of Account Manager at Leica Microsystems.
