Amy Elias. PhD

Sequencing Applications Scientist. Roche

Biography

Graduated: April 2022
Current Location: Roche, Wilmington, MA

Mentor: Jill Kreiling

Description of trainee's research project and progress: Amy Elias s a student in the lab of Professor Jill Kreiling. Her project examines the role miRNAs in age- and neurodegeneration-related changes in the mouse brain. Amy performed single-nuclei sequencing on the subventricular zone of the mouse brain at different ages. She is analyzing how particular miRNAs target inflammatory genes with age, and to enable this she developed a custom reference of primary miRNAs for single-nuclei sequencing data. She matriculated in the MCB Program in September 2016, and is currently in her sixth year in the MCB Program. She was supported by this T32 from 09/01/17 to 08/31/19). Her work has already contributed to three published papers, and two more are in preparation.
